Even if it is obvious that imagination should never replace reality, and that excessive fantasizing can lead to alienation and disconnection from reality, it is undeniable that sexual fantasies, just like dreams, can provide a gate to our unconscious mind. Morin is able to find trends and patterns that are more recurrent, for example, in the gay male community compared to the heterosexual community, and so on. It is not necessary to agree with every aspect of the book, but it is clear that it contains a lot of interesting concepts and some precious insights scattered here and there.
